Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, received in Jeddah on Thursday Kuwaiti Prime Minister Sheikh Dr. Mohammad Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

The officials discussed the historic fraternal relations between their countries. They tackled prospects for bilateral cooperation and opportunities for strengthening and developing it in various fields.

They also reviewed several issues of common interest.

Saudi Ambassador to Kuwait Prince Sultan bin Saad bin Khalid, Minister of State and Member of the Cabinet Prince Turki bin Mohammad bin Fahd bin Abdulaziz, and Ambassador of Kuwait to the Kingdom Sheikh Sabah Nasser Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah attended the meeting.

Sheikh Mohammed had arrived in Saudi Arabia earlier on Thursday on his first official visit since his appointment to his post.

Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Secretary-General Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi stressed on Monday the need to address and bolster stability and security in the region, foremost of which is the dire situation in the Gaza Strip.

He made his remarks as he received in Riyadh a European Parliament delegation from the Committee on Foreign Affairs, headed by David McAllister.

The officials reviewed joint files and the progress of cooperation between the GCC and the European Union (EU), ways to deepen the strategic partnership between them in various fields, and regional and international issues of common interest.

On Gaza, Albudaiwi underlined the need for cooperation and coordination to work towards an immediate ceasefire, as well as to activate all relevant international and UN resolutions that will help in protecting people and ensuring the delivery of humanitarian aid.
